Gus is 68, has lived with HIV for 40 years and has been an HIV activist and journalist since recovering from AIDS in the mid-1990s. He edited Positive Nation, the UK's magazine for people with HIV, and then joined Aidsmap in 2008. He has been particularly influential in the field of HIV prevention.
