LGBT Asylum in the U.S. – Information Session
Get information about how to apply for asylum in the U.S. if you are in danger of persecution in your home country. The LGBT Asylum Project is the only San Francisco nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to providing accessible legal representation for LGBT asylum seekers who are fleeing persecution due to their sexual orientation, gender identity and/or HIV status.
SFAF Welcome Party
Join us for a community event at our new home office in SoMa! We’ll have refreshments, a welcome by our CEO Dr. Tyler TerMeer, and a cultural celebration with Aztec dancers and Mariachi music in celebration of El Grupo de Apoyo Latino’s 40th anniversary.
Light in the Grove Annual Gala
Join SFAF executive leadership and staff at the National AIDS Memorial Annual Gala the evening before World AIDS Day. The event will honor Dan Bernal with the Lifetime of Commitment Award and will be hosted by Sister Roma of San Francisco’s Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
World AIDS Day National Observance
Vince Crisostomo, SFAF’s Director of Aging Services, will receive the Thom Weyand Unsung Hero Award in recognition of his decades of HIV and AIDS advocacy at the World AIDS Day National Observance at the National AIDS Memorial Grove. Crisostomo will also participate in a panel discussion at the event highlighting stories and experiences from people living with HIV of all ages.
Celebrating the Latine Community at the AIDS Memorial Grove
Join Programa Latino to celebrate the lives of Latine people who died of HIV and AIDS around the world. Programa Latino in collaboration with the AIDS Memorial Grove will celebrate the Latine community at the AIDS Memorial Grove by “El Grupo” boulder with Mariachi music, Aztec dancers, tamales and atole. No RSVP needed.
“Tangerine” Film Screening at Strut
Join us on World AIDS Day for a free evening of Trans Cinema complete with with candy, popcorn and beverages. Doors open at 4:00 pm.
World AIDS Day at the Mexican Consulate in San Francisco
Programa Latino will host a health fair with HIV testing at the Mexican Consulate in San Francisco in honor of World AIDS Day. The event will be held in collaboration with Mission Neighborhood Health Center, Instituto Familiar de La Raza, Vision y Compromiso, El/La para Trans-Latinas and other Latine community-based organizations.

Join us for a free film screening of "The Six Triple Eight," including candy, popcorn and beverages. We will also be offering a limited number of STI testing for attendees. Doors open at 5:00pm.
“Paris is Burning” Film Screening at Palace of Fine Arts Theatre – Black History Month Celebration
Join us at this free event in celebrating and honoring the accomplishments of Black queer individuals, both past and present, as part of an ongoing initiative to elevate the stories and contributions of Black LGBTQ+ communities.
HAN – Save Our Sciences Rally to Protect HIV Research
Join SFAF HIV Advocacy Network (HAN), in conjunction with scientists attending the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI), to stand in solidarity with scientists and researchers coming to San Francisco from around the world for the scientific conference, and to raise awareness about the impact funding freezes, and staff and budget cuts will have on this critical life-saving research.
TGI Monthly Brunch – Community Meeting – Openhouse SF
We welcome Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming, and Intersex Community of ALL AGES to our monthly TGNCI gatherings. Catering to be provided by local TGNCI/QTBIPOC folks/businesses.
