Harm Reduction in the Health Care System
This project of Temple University's Beasley School of Law (Philadelphia) aims to promote effective disease prevention and care among injection drug users by identifying the legal factors that influence their health. The site is primarily dedicated to answering the question, "As a health care provider, can I legally prescribe and dispense syringes to injection drug users as an HIV prevention tool?" The site concludes that physicians can legally prescribe syringes in 48 of the 50 U.S. states and features a list of medical organizations that support the prescribing of syringes by health care professionals.
