This directory is designed for both health care professionals and patients. AIDSinfo
AIDSinfo is a primary resource for U.S. federally approved treatment guidelines for HIV and AIDS. Guidelines are available for adults, adolescents, pediatrics, pregnant women and for the reduction of perinatal HIV transmission. These guidelines are regularly updated to incorporate new developments in the treatment field. There is a link to the PubMed database of biomedical literature through this site. The site also provides quick and easy access to information on clinical trials for adults and children. Both US and international clinical trials information is available. A valuable service is drug information from the AIDSDRUGS Database. An extensive HIV glossary is provided. Links to the CancerNet website for AIDS-related malignancies, and ClinicalTrials.gov - a comprehensive trials database - are included. http://aidsinfo.nih.gov/

Forum for Collaborative HIV Research
The Forum for Collaborative HIV Research provides in-depth reports on selected treatment issues. The Forum sponsors scientific workshops bringing expert clinicians and researchers together, and provides the conference proceedings through this website. Recent publications have included reports on immune-based therapies for HIV disease, and the risks and benefits of directly-observed therapy for treatment of HIV disease. http://www.hivforum.org

This comprehensive website from the University of California San Francisco offers information on the medical aspects of HIV/AIDS care and treatment, prevention, policy, and international issues. Diagnosis and management of HIV/AIDS and related conditions, clinical manifestations, and other sections of the AIDS Knowledge Base textbook are accessible. HIV/AIDS Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)

Johns Hopkins AIDS Service
The Johns Hopkins AIDS Service offers a comprehensive web site of HIV information and resources, including publications, medical education, provider and consumer interactive forums, and resources and information on treatment, epidemiology, prevention, and managed care/health financing. The monthly AIDS Service Update summarizes the newly published articles/findings in the medical literature. Conference summaries and Netcasts of all major meetings and key events are linked via the Events Archive. MEDLINE plus
The MEDLINE plus website provides up-to-date treatment information and access to the extensive literature base of the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health, USA. National Center for HIV, STD and TB Prevention
The website for the National Center for HIV, STD and TB Prevention at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a primary resource for surveillance data and prevention information on HIV/AIDS, TB elimination, and STD prevention and treatment. Materials are prepared at multiple levels including public health professionals, clinicians, technical and laboratory personnel, consumers, advocates, and for use in corporate/workplace settings. Updated treatment information and guidelines are available as part of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports, and Special Reports, accessible through this site. National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
The home page of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases is a rich resource for HIV/AIDS research and treatment information, as well as HIV vaccine and HIV prevention information. Links are available to all of the NIAID-funded research networks and programs, including: Comprehensive International Program of Research on AIDS (CIPRA); Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group (AACTG); Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group (PACTG), addressing children, adolescents, and perinatal transmission; HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN); Acute HIV Infection and Early Disease Research Program (AIEDRP); Women's Interagency HIV Study (WIHS), and others. Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS)
The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) website has worldwide statistics, fact sheets, country profiles, technical documents and reports on diverse topics spanning care and treatment, program design and implementation, best practices, health financing and other issues. Special sections are available on UNAIDS initiatives, such as the Accelerating Access initiative for medications and treatment, the Africa Partnership Against AIDS (IPAA), and the Best Practices collection. Links to other UN Agencies involved in HIV/AIDS activities (World Health Organization, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNDP, etc) are helpful in understanding multi-lateral and international programming targeting the HIV/AIDS epidemic. http://www.unaids.org

Homepage of the World Health Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations with 191 member states. WHO promotes technical cooperation among nations on health issues, and carries out programmes to control and eradicate diseases such as HIV/AIDS with UNAIDS, host governments and multilateral partners. Critical Path AIDS Project
The Critical Path AIDS Project was founded by persons with AIDS to provide treatment, resource, and prevention information in wide-ranging levels of detail -- for researchers, service providers, treatment activists, and other PWAs. Emphasizes research, news and updates on treatment and prevention, consumer education materials, and links with several search engines for AIDS journal articles, documents and databases. http://www.critpath.org

National AIDS Treatment Advocacy Project
Includes position papers on the latest treatments and therapies, information about HIV drug development, and comprehensive reports from conferences. http://www.natap.org

National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA)
Founded in 1983, the National Association of People with AIDS is a non-profit membership organization that advocates on behalf of all people living with HIV and AIDS in order to end the pandemic and the human suffering caused by HIV/AIDS. NAPWA is the oldest national AIDS organization in the United States and the oldest national network of people living with HIV/AIDS in the world. NAPWA provides user-friendly publications and educational resources for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and conducts advocacy on a range of HIV policy issues. http://www.napwa.org

Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation
The Kaiser Family Foundation website provides timely and reliable information on developments in HIV/AIDS policy, media coverage, prevention and treatment through a daily news summary, webcasts of key conference proceedings, and occasional reports on select issues.
