Support Resources

HIV/STI testing

If you need information about HIV/STI testing, please contact us at 415-581-1600.

We provide free sexual health services through Magnet, our sexual health clinic program, and at sites across San Francisco.

If you were possibly exposed to HIV in the previous 72 hours, we offer full Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) services with a full month of the medication provided for free. PEP should be considered if you had a condom break or you had condomless anal sex with a person of unknown HIV status or someone with a detectable HIV viral load.

If you think you need PEP: Call 415-581-1600, select #3 to be connected to the nursing team. PEP services are dependent on staff availability. If we are unable to see you, we can refer you to another clinic for PEP.

Housing & Rental Assistance

Here are some resources that might be helpful:

1) If you need immediate assistance with paying rent, the City of San Francisco (sf.gov) provides resources for Back Rent, One-Time Emergency Financial Assistance or Move-In Cost assistance.

If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for the Plus Housing waiting list as all referrals for the SFAF rental assistance program come from MOHCD Plus Housing.

2) Call the SFAF Housing helpline at 415-487-8000 and leave a voicemail so that a staff member can return your call. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 9 to 5pm.

San Francisco AIDS Foundation offers a variety of services to support people who are living with HIV and need help with their current housing or health insurance.

We can help with Plus Housing, AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) enrollment, General Assistance, CalFresh, Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI), Medi-Cal, Medicare, CARE/HIPP, State Disability Insurance (SDI), and Social Security (SSDI/SSI).
